Public Health notification

There has been an increase in the number of scarlet fever and chickenpox outbreaks linked to nurseries and primary schools in England since the beginning of March 2022.

Action: Notify outbreaks to HPTs promptly.

Draft letters are available in the appendices of the scarlet fever outbreak guidance Guidelines for public health management of scarlet fever outbreaks (publishing.service.gov.uk). These can be adapted for local use.
