Summer Reading Challenge Success

Thank you to all schools who promoted and supported children and families to engage with this year's Summer Reading Challenge, which aims to prevent a dip in literacy over the holiday. We are really pleased to be able to tell you that:
  • 8,700 children across the county joined the challenge
  • With the help of The Forum and Norwich Science Festival we have run over 150 fun and free science activities during the holidays in our libraries
  • Over the summer we have issued 197,336 childrens books and 26 children have taken out over 100 books each
  • We have given 46 young people volunteering opportunities over the holidays and enjoyed their support and enthusiasm for the Summer Reading Challenge.

The challenge ended officially on Saturday the 10 September however, please could you encourage your pupils to visit their library to pick up their medal and certificate.
