Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel - Prize draw reminder

If you took part in the Sustrans Big Walk and Walk Wheel, don't forget to enter the Road Safety Team Prize Draw - details below.

This year's new theme was Change your journey, change your world, focusing on climate change and the actions pupils can take to reduce pollution and improve air quality.

In a YouGov survey in 2021 half (49%) of UK school pupils said they were worried about air pollution near their school, while 57% of pupils described the environment around their school as having too many cars.

This event encourages more families to travel to and from school actively. In turn this will improve congestion and air quality around schools and promoting healthier lifestyles by building physical activity into children's daily routine which helps them to arrive to school more relaxed and alert, and is great for their mental wellbeing too.

Prizes

The Road Safety Team are giving away 3 Reflector Shop active travel starter packs from Brightkidz, in a prize draw that will be held the week commencing 10 April 2023.

Once you have completed the form, individual schools will be added to a prize draw and the 3 winners will be contacted week commencing 10 April 2023.
