Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT and BEC Teacher Training Merge to form NESTT

As you may know, after nearly 30 years of training teachers across Suffolk and Norfolk, Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT is merging with BEC Teacher Training to form Norfolk, Essex and Suffolk Teacher Training (NESTT). The newly widened organisation will still be delivering the same local, high quality, personalised training for which Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT is known, and the renamed organisation will give the team scope to develop an even wider range of courses to suit the trainees and the schools.

With the current issues around teacher supply, it is vital to recruit an increased number of trainees to ensure our children get the education they deserve. Those interested in training to teach can start exploring next year's courses from 3 October and applications will be accepted from 10 October. In order to maximise recruitment, it will be important that people understand that NESTT isn't a brand new organisation, and that if they had planned to train with Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT, they should now apply to NESTT.

Key features of NESTT

  1. A Track Record of Success
  2. NESTT is formed from a merger of two well-established school-based teacher training providers. Between them, they have over 50 years of experience of successful teacher training in the East of England.
  3. High Quality Face to Face Training
  4. The NESTT training course is the perfect combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience ensuring trainees get enjoyment and satisfaction from their new career.

  5. A Personalised Programme
  6. The locally-based teams will continue to build on existing relationships with schools to meet individual trainee needs and personalise the training journey.

  7. A Wide Range of Placements
  8. The team works with over 200 local schools across East Anglia so is able to offer a wide range of placements in local schools.

  9. Rapid Career Development
  10. The vast majority of the team's trainees take up positions in our local schools. The high-quality training is fully aligned with the Early Career Framework so the trainees get a flying start, many of them enjoying accelerated career development.

If you would like to find out more about working with NESTT, you can visit the website or contact NESST directly. If you have staff who may be interested in training to be teachers or you would like to host trainee placements, one of the members of the team can visit you in school to discuss the programme in more detail.

NESTT fully appreciates how busy schools are - but would be extremely grateful for anything you can do to offer support.
