Notification of supply disruption for ADHD medication that may impact pupils and staff

Please be advised that there is a national shortage of some of the medicines used to treat ADHD. NHS Norfolk & Waveney is notifying you about this shortage as students and staff members in your school who use ADHD medications could be impacted.

NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) is working with national and regional colleagues as well as with local stakeholders to provide a system-wide approach for managing the supply disruption of ADHD medications. The ICB is providing information to primary care providers on alternative medications and other ways to manage prescriptions of ADHD medicines to patients until the supply shortage is resolved. This is expected to be at some point between October and December 2023.

This message is for information only - no communication is required between the school and student/staff members who may be impacted by alterations to their medication during this period.

Please consider sharing with staff, including teachers with pupils who have ADHD, for their awareness and information.
