Autumn 2010 Data Workshops

We would like to thank schools for their feedback following the last round of Data Workshops and a summary is enclosed above for your information. As requested by the majority of respondees, we have arranged further sessions that will be aimed specifically at school secretaries and admin staff who process the census returns. Unfortunately it has not been possible to set the dates and agendas for these sessions earlier and we apologise for the short notice. The venues, timings and agenda are detailed below. On each day there are two identical sessions, morning and afternoon, to accommodate school staff availability. There is no charge to the school for these sessions.

The venues are:

PDC, King's Lynn - 21st September 2010
Cliff Hotel, Gorleston - 22nd September 2010
Nightingale Centre, Poringland - 24th September 2010
Sprowston Youth Training Centre - 28th September 2010
Watton Junior School - 30th September 2010
Holt Hall - 1st October 2010

The main sections to be covered will be the Pupil Census and the Workforce Census returns. There are also items on Data Protection and Unique Pupil Numbers (UPNs). As with previous data events these are not specific to a particular schools' Management Information System and will not deal with software related problems although there may be ICT Solutions staff present at some of the sessions who can be contacted before or after the sessions for information.

We have limited the sessions to 30 attendees to enable less formal sharing of experiences. To book a place please email the IRC Data Team as soon as possible with the venue and names of attendees noting there is a maximum of two delegates per school on a first come, first served basis which we will confirm and send further details. (If you wish to have more than two attendees please let us know and, if there are spaces available nearer the date, we will include them and let you know.) Past events held have been well received and we hope these will be equally as valuable to schools.
