Management Information Sheet
Sickness Insurance Database Installation
As notified in the Services to Schools brochure, and via MI Sheet 50/11, all future sickness insurance claims must be submitted electronically via the new Sickness Insurance Database.
The Sickness Insurance Database is now available to download. If your school has signed up to the Sickness Insurance Scheme within the Services to Schools contract for 2011/12 you must download the database as soon as possible. The above instructions detail how to download the file and complete the initial setting up of the database.
If your school downloaded the Demo version of the database (as per MI sheet 50/11) it is recommended that this is deleted from your computer to avoid any confusion.
If you would like to complete the e-learning course for the Sickness Insurance Database (details attached) you should book the course at: www.eficts.norfolk.gov.uk/Finance/Training/booking/courses.asp?view=new#list, you will then receive an email containing a link to the course.
General Notes:
If you are unsure as to whether your school has purchased Sickness Insurance for the 2011/12 financial year please contact the Finance Support Helpline to confirm your schools level of cover purchased.
If you have a member of staff whose sickness absence spans the financial year end (i.e. the first date of sickness is prior to the 01/04/2011) you should enter this date into the “First Date of Unbroken Sickness†field, with a first date of sickness as the 01/04/2011.
If your school did not purchase any Sickness Insurance cover during the 2010/11 financial year you cannot claim for any sickness absences that started prior to 01/04/2011 (i.e. pre-existing illnesses). Please contact the Finance Support Helpline if you are unsure if your school purchased sickness insurance cover during 2010/11.
Manual Sickness Insurance Claim Forms (yellow forms) relating to the 2011/12 financial year will no longer be accepted or processed from April 2011.
All queries relating to Sickness Insurance should be directed to the Finance Support Helpline in the first instance.
