New Statutory Duties for Careers Education and Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) from September 2012

We are seeking the views of Norfolk's Headteachers about how their schools plan to respond to changes in their statutory duties with regards to careers guidance from September 2012, as proposed in the Education Bill that is making its passage through Parliament.

Once gathered, this information will help the LA identify how it may best assist schools to prepare and meet the requirements of this legislative change and to help shape the Information, Advice and Careers Guidance (IACG) Services offered to young people and schools/colleges by Norfolk County Council and its partners.

Please click here for a short questionnaire that we would be grateful for you to complete and return by 17th July 2011. Click here for the DfE Communication to Schools explaining the new duties sent in April 2011 and here for an excellent briefing paper from ACSL that covers the current and future position of CEIAG in schools in England.

If you have any questions about this letter or the questionnaire please contact on 01603 215321or e-mail karin.porter@norfolk.gov.uk

In the meantime may we take this opportunity to thank you for your continuing support with this process.
