FFT ASPIRE next steps

This follows on from MI Sheet 157/14 introducing FFT ASPIRE.

During the autumn FFT Live, providing data analysis to support self-evaluation and target setting, including governor dashboards, will be replaced by FFT ASPIRE. FFT Live will continue to be available until the end of December, but no new data will be added.

During the next week or two all schools (including academies) that subscribe to FFT for this academic year will be given access to the new FFT ASPIRE system. Headteachers (or alternative administrator who responded to MI Sheet 157) will receive an automated email from FFT providing a user-name and a link into FFT ASPIRE Admin website. In order to activate your new administrator's user-account you will need an "Activation Code". Your Activation Code will be in a letter in the new communication system Perspective Lite (see below).

Until FFT ASPIRE is fully launched in mid-October, not all functionality will be available. Most significantly, new Year 3 pupils in junior schools and new Year 7 pupils in secondary schools will not yet be included. We realise this is most inconvenient as you need this information now to support your target setting, but for this one year while in transition please bear with us. From mid-October you will be able to upload your new pupils to FFT ASPIRE and then see them included in your datasets. You will also be able to make any changes to your cohorts, which I'm sure you will find beneficial. For secondary schools, FFT want to use new 2014 KS4 outcomes to calculate their estimates, and this is a further reason for the delay until mid-October.

You will find our free launch/workshops for Headteachers and Chairs of Governors (or delegated colleagues), run by FFT themselves, most beneficial. If you have not yet booked a place, please find the following events on the NIEAS online booking system:

  • EPHF7 A: Monday 20th October 13:30 to 16:30 - Primary phase in West Norfolk (WNPDC)
  • EPHF7 B: Tuesday 21st October 09:00 to 12:00 - Primary phase in Norwich (NPDC)
  • EPHF7 C: Tuesday 21st October 13:30 to 16:30 - Primary phase in Norwich (NPDC)
  • EPHF8 A: Wednesday 22nd October 9:00 to 12:00 - Secondary phase in Norwich (NPDC)

Perspective Lite

As mentioned in Gordon Boyd's letter emailed to all headteachers on 3rd September, following an evaluation, the Local Authority has introduced a new web-based secure communications tool to share information about improvement activity. This new tool is called Perspective Lite. All headteachers and principals received an email on Monday 8th September providing a user-account and password to access Perspective Lite. Once logged in to Perspective Lite you will be able to click on "News" to find more information on Perspective Lite.
