Year 0 Nursery Class Funding (Early Education)
From 1 September 2016 there will be changes to how the information concerning nursery classes attendance is collected to determine the amount of early education funding (Year 0 income) the school will receive.
Whilst the school must continue to provide the termly census return, it will also be necessary to submit child details using an online portal which collates early education funding information for the whole of Norfolk.
We recognise that this change will require additional administration for the school, it will however allow:
- Preparation to embed a system to collect data in readiness for the implementation of the 30 hours (from Sept 2017), which will require half termly eligibility checks
- Align maintained nursery classes/schools with all other providers including academies and free schools
- Nursery class attendance to be updated throughout the school term, which means that additional funding can be claimed
and - It will negate the need to submit Early Years Pupil Premium claims via Anycomms
The Early Years finance team will be available to support your administration team in the processing of the details, and wherever possible roll forward child data each term to reduce the amount of inputting required. Training sessions are offered termly to providers using the portal and step by step guidance is also available (logon guidance and Funding Module guidance).
