We have a fantastic offer of fully funded and subsidised Inclusion and SEND advice, guidance, training and resources for your school this half-term, supporting you to develop more inclusive school cultures and curriculums for the whole-school community.

Early Intervention and Prevention

Led by Josie Rayner-Wells, Senior Adviser Inclusion, Early Intervention and Prevention

Educating with Pride: making your school and LGBT+ inclusive space. This fully funded virtual workshop will support schools and education settings in their journey to LGBT+ inclusion.

Meeting the MHWB needs of deaf children and young people and those with a hearing loss. Join this DfE fully funded interactive webinar, jointly provided by Virtual School Sensory Support and Inclusion and SEND to ensure that you are promoting best practice

Family wellbeing Café Webinar (Primary). This fully funded webinar will provide your school with everything it needs to deliver a family wellbeing café, promoting the emotional health and wellbeing of children and families within your school community.

Emotionally Based School Avoidance Surgery Sessions: For some pupils Covid-19 may have created or exacerbated anxieties in engaging with school. These fully funded bespoke surgery sessions provided by Norfolk EPSS will provide targeted strategies to address individual pupil needs.

MHWB Network meeting: Identifying need, developing and monitoring interventions. This fully funded session will provide your schools with practical evidence-based resources and illustrative examples of good practice, helping you make a meaningful difference for pupils within your school.

Education DESTY. An exciting opportunity to bring DESTY to your school fully funded, to help you support the emotional heath, wellbeing and resilience of your children. Join this virtual information event to find out more.

RSHE

  • Bootcamp (Primary), Bootcamp (Secondary): This fully funded webinar and accompanying RSE teaching resource will provide your school with everything it needs to extend beyond statutory compliance, embedding best practice RSHE.
  • RSHE Surgery: Provide opportunities to receive DFE updates, new resources, guidance, and solutions to common challenges.

PATHS

  • Revitalise Session. This fully funded webinar and accompanying resources will enable existing PATHS schools to re-introduce PATHS effectively into their school, embedding Social and Emotional skills as part of a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing
  • Network meeting: Transition. This session will enable your school to use the PATHS programme to support successful transitions.

Norfolk Steps

  • Step On Tutor Training. Investing in this 3 day course will equip you with the skills and knowledge of the Step On curriculum to train your colleagues, maintain their Step On certification and to continually influence practice within your own context.
  • Coming soon! New subsidised Norfolk Steps programme of support. Email inclusionandsend@norfolk.gov.uk to register an early interest.
  • Norwich Opportunity Area Schools can access the new Norfolk Steps programme for 2 years fully funded, with a contribution to staff cover costs. Email inclusionandsend@norfolk.gov.uk to register your interest.

Learning and SEND

Offer of support:

  • Training packages, including Norfolk SENDCo Now, SLCN Level 4 and a range of twilights - contact inclusionandsend@norfolk.gov.uk for information.
  • Adviser support for leaders and SENDCos in the areas of:
  • Identification of need (INDES)
  • Provision (IPSEF and PEaSS)
  • High quality teaching
  • Inclusive Curriculum Twilight: Inclusive Curriculum design ensures that all pupils have the opportunity to flourish in their settings. It promotes equality of opportunity and a commitment to ensuring that all children and young people access a curriculum which supports them to be successful in later life.
  • A whole organisation approach to emotional health and wellbeing Twilight: Inclusion and SEND are pleased to offer a twilight training session to find out more about the approach including: How to audit current practice, The importance of providing a safe, supportive environment and promoting an ethos that fosters a culture of connection, inclusion and respect so everyone feels safe, Social and emotional learning, Nurturing wellbeing and self-care for the whole school community, Sources of support and resources.
  • E3 funding: Element 3 is a pupil specific (Yr R to 11) funding stream which is for mainstream schools to access if they have children or young people with high special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • E3 funding workshop - revised arrangements for the financial year 2022-23: This is an information sharing session for mainstream educational settings and other external stakeholders regarding E3 funding arrangements for the financial year 2022-23.
  • Access Through Technology service Access Through Technology (ATT) - Schools (norfolk.gov.uk)
  • Access Through Technology Twilight: This twilight session will provide an introduction to the Access Through Technology Service, including; What the service offers, The criteria for referrals, How to make referrals.

SEMH and Transitions Team

Led by Vicki Setters, Senior Adviser Inclusion, SEMH and Transitions

Offer of fully funded support:

  • Bespoke, intensive support for schools in relation to CYP that are close to exclusion
  • upport for schools with the transition of CYP that are placed via the Fair Access Team
  • Support for schools with ensuring effective Managed Moves
  • Exclusions Team support
  • Support with identifying whether an SEMH SRB application is appropriate
