TITAN Buddy Programme

We have reached the time of the year where we are beginning preparations for our TITAN Summer Buddy Programme. The programme is aimed at supporting young people in their transition from school to further education.

The buddy will escort the student on public transport to and from their further educational establishment during the summer break. During this time the buddy will make an assessment as to the students transport capabilities. We understand that after our work some students will not be proficient in independent travel, in these cases a taxi service will be offered.

We would like to know how many year 11+ students moving onto further education in September you feel may benefit from some support over the summer. This is including students who for example, are currently taxied or walk into school but will need help accessing public transport when they move to further education.

Could you please reply to this message by filling in the attached spreadsheet with the students you wish to refer by the 13/02/2015 or inform us if you have no suitable candidates? This enables us to recruit sufficient staff for the programme. Once this process is complete we will then be able to discuss formal TITAN referrals or taxi requests.
